Janet E. Turner's Obituary
Janet Eggleston Turner passed peacefully on July 2nd, 2025. She was 79 years old. She is survived by her husband, Jim Turner. She was the first child of Elizabeth and Merrill Eggleston who preceded her in death. She had four siblings John Eggleston and Martha Adams, who preceded her in death and is survived by sisters Beth Caples and Becky Eggleston. She is also survived by her son, Steven Duffel (Michelle Duffel) and stepdaughters Melanie Presnell (Matt Presnell), Catherine Turner (James Henderson) and Michelle Lindquist. She has nine grandchildren Paige Swain (Cody Swain), Alyssa Duffel, EC Presnell, Rebecca Presnell, Wyatt Mangum, Elizabeth Mangum, James Mangum, Meghan Lindquist and Morgan Lindquist as well as four great grandchildren, Avery Mangum, Avani Mangum, Carter Mangum and Cullen Swain. She also had many nieces and nephews.
Janet was a lifelong Memphian, East High Graduate (class of 1964) who managed Calico Corners Fabrics for many years. She was also a longtime member of Central Church and Grace Evangelical Church. She dedicated much of her free time to the support of special needs children. Above and beyond all though, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was, quite simply, an amazing "Mimi".
Visitation will be at Memorial Park Funeral Home 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis TN on Saturday July 12th at 1:00 PM with the Service to immediately follow at 2:00 PM.
