James Henry Tuggle peacefully departed this life at Allenbrook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of eighty-three.James was born May 1, 1934, in Memphis, Tennessee to Ben Tuggle and Maggie Tuggle, both of whom preceded him in death. He accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age. James was an active member of St. James Church of God in Christ, where he served as Deacon of the church for five years.James was a dedicated employee of Solomon Schechter, where he provided over 30 years of service.Left to cherish memories of James are his wife, Mary Tuggle, of 25 years; 10 daughters, Carol Parks-Richardson (Patrick), Sharon Thomas (Joseph), Paula Lowe all of Memphis, TN, Mary Bell (Peter) of Rockford, IL, Joan Barnett (Larry), Jane Tuggle-Johnson (Carl), Kim Roberson, all of Memphis, TN, Diane Friley, Wanda Washington (Lonnie), and Karen Teal-Porchia (Stacy), of Rockford, IL; four sons, Mark Lowe, King “Woo” Farmer both of Memphis, TN, Ronnie Teal (Cynthia) of Rockford, IL, and Willie Teal (Sherry) of Decatur, IL; twenty eight grandchildren, Elton Jr., Joseph Jr. (April), Toya (Dewayne), Shakira, Lauretla, Zikia (Courtland), Renika (Jeremy), Moneek, Alicia, Tamika (Robert), Jaylan, Shyteria, Antwon, Mercedes, Carlysa, Carl, Carlton, Yolanda, Peter, Ronnie Jr, Antonio, Lapatreece, Lonnie, Brittany, Willieta, Jermy, Cameron, and Christopher; a host of great grandchildren; extended family; and friends.Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38119 (901) 767-8930. “Celebrating Life… Behind the Stone Wall”.
