As LTC Pruitt, Bob was my Battalion Commander in Vietnam in late 1968 & 1969. I commanded Alpha Battery in Tra Bong as a young Captain. I will be visiting Vietnam in March 2017 and will say a prayer for his memory at those common haunts I visit. He was a tough commander but the only problem I had with him is when he “stole” my 60 kw generator when his was struck by lightning!!! Rank has its privileges!! Farewell sir.Thomas P. Mr. Bob was such a dear, kind man. He always had a story and his laugh was infectious! Myself, as well as many of the other ladies at Sport Clips Southwind, will miss him.

My condolences to Bob’s family. I served as secretary at St. Mark’s UMC for several years and got to know Bob then. He was very active at St. Mark ‘s. He loved to share boyhood stories. For over 25 years the Commission on Missing and Exploited Children presented the Child Safety ID Program at the Mid-South Fair. Bob Pruitt volunteered each year to help us ID the kids. I would always find Bob on one knee, face to face with little children asking their names and encouraging them to be good little boys and girls. He was a kind and service minded individual.
