James (Jim) L. Walters' Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of James (Jim) L. Walters, of Nesbit, Mississippi announce his passing on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at the age of 80.
He was retired from the direct mail advertising business. Jim will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 34 years, Brenda; children: David Walters (Leigh Ann), Rhonda Kelly (David), and Brent Walters (Brooke); grandchildren: Ashleigh Walters, Justin Kelly, Holly Duckworth (Jeremy), Chris Kelly, and Mikaela Walters; great grandchildren: Carson and Beckham Duckworth; sister in law: Faye Algee; nieces: Shelia Biffle (David) and Angelia Looney (Michael); countless family and friends that will help his memory live on.
He is preceded in death by his father James Walters, Sr. and his mother Mary Ann McGovern.
Jim loved and cherished spending time with his family above all else. He was the most amazing father, loving husband, supportive grandad, and affectionate, fun-loving great grandad. He had eyes that always saw the good in people, ears that always listened, arms that always held tight, a love that was never-ending, and a caring heart made of gold. He loved to go fishing, eat ice cream and desserts, grow flowers and trees, watch the birds, and spend time working in his garage building birdhouses, picture frames, planters, and trays. He did not just build these items, he specially handcrafted each with individual love and care for a specific family member, a friend, a neighbor or neighborhood kid, his great grandkids and their teachers, the delivery man, and just on and on. He was the most generous, kind-hearted, caring, and thoughtful man that loved to give from his heart in both big and small ways. Jim impacted so many lives with his kindness, generosity, values, and above all, his unconditional love. Your life gave us such beautiful memories we will forever love and cherish. We will always miss and love you. In laughter and in sorrow, in sunshine and in rain, we know you are watching over us, until we meet again. Psalm 73:26 “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
