James B. Crawford's Obituary
James Blake Crawford, Jr., 71, of Collierville, TN passed away May 11, 2013. A lifelong native Memphian, he was born on September 4, 1941 in Memphis, TN. He attended Fairview Jr. High School and graduated from Central High School, class of 1959. He then served in the U.S. Army before going on to attend Memphis State University, graduating class of 1966. He was made an honorary Kentucky Colonel in 1976. He had a lengthy, successful and award winning career with Energizer (formerly Eveready Batteries) from 1967 to 2009. He had numerous job assignments and was cited multiple times as an outstanding performer. He was an avid golfer for a period and participated in the FedEx St. Jude Pro-Am Classic for several years. Jim had a great time presiding as Duke of Cotton Carnival Krewe of Enmead 2007. Jim was known for his dry wit and sense of humor and was a great friend, gentleman and human being to many people. Preceded in death by his mother, Elma “Tuck” Federspiel Crawford and father, James Blake Crawford, Sr. Survived by daughter Christy Lynn Crawford (Gabriel Mulcahy) of Walnut Creek, CA, sister Nona Lee Crawford Fulenwider of Huntsville,TX, Aunt Charlotte “Bobbie” Federspiel Runnion of Rowlett, TX, cousins Harriett Crews of Collierville, TN and Sherran Smith of Rowlett, TX, and sweetheart Mary Humphreys of Cordova, TN.
