I had been trying to get ahold of Jim for several months….I never knew. I was a sales rep with Helene Curtis when he was with Energizer. When we would go to shows, we would have the best time and my stomach ached from laughing. I knew he was there even though we lived miles away. I bought his daughters pickup from him and we still drive it. SO sorry he’s gone. I didn’t even know he was sick. Sorry for your loss.
Hi Mr. Haaga, this one time in the early 90’s, through some weird funny series of events that I unfortunately can’t remember the details of, the guy who was supposed to wear the bunny suit broke his leg & my dad HAD to wear it. He said little children were patting him everywhere. He was too tall for the bunny suit, so about 3 inches of leg was exposed & one child said, “look mommy, the bunny has legs!” I included it in the slideshow from the service, which they’ve now posted up here:) 6/11/13

He had a good time whenever he came to Louisville, especially when he attended the Derby! Jim and I were friends for over 40 years. He was a great guy and a dear friend. I am in shock to learn of his death. My heart is heavy knowing that you’re no longer a phone call or email away.
