Helen Catherine Cousin's Obituary
HELEN CATHERINE COUSIN passed away on Christmas Eve. She was a resident of Trezevant Terrace. Born on September 13, 1920, Helen lived an amazing life and overcame many challenges along the way. Widowed with two young children, she moved to Memphis and worked at the Millington Naval Base, retiring at age 70. A two-time cancer survivor, she traveled extensively abroad, and enjoyed her volunteer work at the Orpheum, FedEx Forum, Memphis in May activities, and the St. Jude golf tournament. She was a life-long Roman Catholic and a communicant of Holy Rosary. Affectionately known as “Boodie” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she will be greatly missed by her son, Ben (Katie), daughter Alice Echols (Gene) and her grandchildren Laura Echols, Amy (Cory) Callaway, Sarah (Dave) Miller, Martha Cousins, Dr. Ben Cousins and Mason (Caroline) Cousins as well as four great-grandchildren. Her family will miss her very much but are very happy for her that she was able to be Home for Christmas. A private family service will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please made a donation in her honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the charity of your choice.Funeral Services have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, “Behind the Stone Wall.”
