Hazle B. DeHaan's Obituary
Hazle B. DeHaan, 99, peacefully passed into the arms of her heavenly father November 6, 2015. Mrs. DeHaan retired from Memphis State University. Following retirement, she continued her work by coordinating travel lectures for the Goodwyn Institute. Mrs. DeHaan volunteered in various areas for Methodist Hospital. She was a 35 year charter member of the Daughters of the Nile Zia Temple #148 and a 22 year member of P.E.O (Philanthropic Educational Organization). Mrs. DeHaan was preceded in death by her husband, Abraham Samuel DeHaan; son, Michael DeHaan; and sister, Margaret Hochman. She is survived by her daughters, Edna DeHaan and Barbara DeHaan; daughter-in-law, Mary DeHaan; grandchildren, Andrea Collins, Brian, Jeffrey, and Daniel DeHaan, and Eddie Quitana; five great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Schilling Gardens, S.O.S (Serving Our Seniors), and Crossroads Hospice for all their loving support. Visitation with the family will be from 12:30 p.m. until her service begins at 1:30 Monday, November 9 at Christ United Methodist Church. Entombment will immediately follow at Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38119 “Celebrating Life… Behind the Stone Wall”
