Brayden Forehand
I remember when I first met him, I was still a new leader with youth ministry. During winter retreat while I was leading small group with my boys, Hayden runs in with no clothes on and just starts flexing on everyone. I was full of confusion and just laughter. From that point he never not put a smile on my face.
Time went on, him and I got closer and I got to know him even better. I don’t have a little brother but I definitely felt I gained one with Hayden.
Hayden then started talking to my little sister, Briley. He’d come over to the house, play some pickleball, and just hangout. I loved hearing talk about his faith. I know him and my sister didn’t make it work but they became best friends and it made me proud to see the man of Christ he was becoming.
Last conversation I had with Hayden was at the Memphis Tigers game. I meant to go get lunch with him on campus but we never got around to it. He was telling me how it felt on campus, seeing so much evil and no love. I told him I knew exactly how he felt. He told me he went to prayer. Hearing him say that just put a smile on my face.
He was an awesome kid, a great pickleball partner, a little brother, a friend. I cherish the time I had with him in his short years and I know we’ll cross paths again one day.
I pray that all the people he touched give their life to Christ and we see a revival started by Hayden. Nothing more would make me happy.
Love you Hayden,
