Harold Statsul Spillars' Obituary
Harold Statsul Spillars, 82, passed away October 18, 2013. He was born July 5, 1931. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant Commander after 26 years of service. He later retired from General Electric. He was an FAA Certified Flight Instructor. He was the recipient of the Boy Scouts Silver Beaver Award for his work with Aviation Explorer Post 924. He was also a member of the advisory board for Wooddale High School Aviation Optional School. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; brother, Jerry; children, Laurie Douglas, Yvonne Spillars, Doug Spillars, and Leslie Davis; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, October 23 and funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 24 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. Burial will follow in Southwoods Memorial Park Cemetery.
