Glen Richardson's Obituary
Glen Richardson, 86, of Memphis, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julis C. Richardson and Vaycie May Richardson, an aunt, Laycie McGee and an uncle, Troy McGee.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shelbie Jean Roten Richardson, Debra J. Murphy, Diana Lynn Ray, and Stephen Glen Richardson (Jaclyn), eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a sister, Gayle Richardson Goodwin (Larry), and two nieces.
He was a Navy seaman. He served on the USS-KEARSAGE from December 1955 to August 1957. He served his country in Hawaii, Hong Kong, Japan and the Phillipines.
Mr. Richardson retired from ADT Security Systems/Tyco after 30 years. After retiring, he worked as a greeter at Cooper’s Grocery Store. He served as a deacon at Temple Baptist church and later at Cherry Road Baptist Church where he was an active member.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, January 31, 2020 from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue in Memphis. The burial will immediately follow.
Memorial contributions can be made in Mr. Richardson’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
