Gertrude Purdue's Obituary
Brigadier Gertrude Purdue, 104, passed away May 27, 2013. She was born May 18, 1909 in Massillon, OH to Clarence and Gertrude McClellan. She was an officer in the Salvation Army. She was preceded in death by her husband, William B. Purdue and a foster daughter, Marjorie Gerwig. She is survived by her children, Norman Purdue (Suzanne), Edythe Blakley, and Marilyn Sheron; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Sunday, June 2 and funeral services will be 1 p.m., Monday, June 3 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
