George Wymore Maxwell Jr's Obituary
George Wymore Maxwell Jr. passed away on December 2, 2020 at his home in Tumbling Shoals, AR. He was 72 years old. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Michele ; his daughter Leslie Scott (Clint) grandchildren Ashlyn, Alyese, Ava, Anabelle, Amelia, and Aubrey; son Judson Maxwell (Jessica) grandchildren Taylor, Payton and Caden; daughter Donis Maxwell, grandson Mason; Stepdaughter Sandra Evans and grandchildren Sarah Grace and Hayden Mitchell.
George was born in Memphis, TN on September 17th, 1948. He graduated high school in Huntsville, AL. and returned to his hometown to attend college at Memphis State University. It was there where he received his Criminal Justice Degree in 1973.
He retired in 2006 as a Major with the Memphis Police Department after 30 years of service. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and spending time at his lake house. He was known for making friends with everyone, had a great time where ever he went, and was someone who could do anything. Prior to his stroke he was active in several outreach programs with his church, First United Methodist in Heber Springs, AR.
A service will be held on December 8, 2020 , 10am at 1099 W Pine St, Heber Springs, AR
A service will also be held on December 11, 2020, visitation at 1pm,service at 2pm, and burial to follow at Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis.TN
