Certainly enjoyed many stories Gene shared with me in his later years. His love of baseball showed through many of the stories. Another community that Gene was involved with was the Power Hour luncheon at Christ Methodist Church on Wednesdays. The men of Christ certainly held Gene in high esteem. His presence will be missed and we pray for his family on their loss.
I used to do hospital visitations with Gene. He always humbled me with the prayers he would say at the bedside. He was a man who was close to God, and he gave comfort to many.
