Frances Speros' Obituary
Frances Dixon Speros, 87, passed away February 19, 2015. She was born September 4, 1927 in Memphis, TN to Frances and Henry Dixon. She graduated from Tech High School. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Rhodes College and her master’s degree in education from the University of Memphis. She was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church. She was active in Sunday school and enjoyed learning more about other Christian denominations. She was an administrator and teacher with legacy Shelby County Schools. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed reading, and painted with water colors and pastels. She was a very active volunteer, belonging to the Duration Club and working with the Ladies of St. Jude and in soup kitchens. She had fun watching sports, attended annual picnics, and went to the Memphis Zoo often. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Pease (Tom); sons, Bill Speros (Chris) and Richard Speros (Annette); grandchildren, Parker, Lacey, Billy, Kristin, John, Richard Jr., Ashely, Kimberly, and Brianna; great-grandchildren, Declan, Quinn, Miles, Garner, and Nicolas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Speros and daughter, Susan. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Sunday, February 22 and funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Monday, February 23 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Be Free Revolution, 771 East Brookhaven Circle, Memphis, TN 38117. Beautiful, smart, driving and warm-hearted, she made everything feel like home and how family should. She was our glue. She taught us everything we know when it comes to wit and charm. Thank you for all you taught us with the example you set for us with your beautiful life. Your legacy will live forever through us.
