As a young mom of 2 small boys, newly single and scared to be walking in my new role as single mom, I’ll always remember Foy’s kindness and generosity to me, along with her solid testimony of God’s faithfulness and how He’d look after my boys and me. She hired me to help her pack for moving and then decorating her new home for Christmas. Foy’s kindness and generous paychecks meant the world to me! She even gave me a beautiful black suit that is still a favorite of mine today! Over the years, Foy would call me back to help again with Christmas decor…she loved getting out those special Christmas treasures, talking about her parents, her grands, and the Lord’s goodness and faithfulness in her life. Praising God that Foy is just where she always wanted to be-at the feet of her Savior.

Foy was a very special lady in my life. She was married to my First cousin and lived in the biggest house this old country boy had ever been in. We went to her house when we visited my Uncle Wallace and Aunt Hilda. I was a really young boy who, with my little brother Mike, found out how much fun it was to go up these things called stairs, sit on our butts and slide down to the bottom,jump up and race back to the top to do it again. Of course when Foy asked what we were doing we blamed it on Jay. After all he was the one who taught us. She would peep around the corner to make sure we were ok then go back into kitchen and continue her conversation with Momma. All of my memories of those trips to Eupora are etched in my mind forever. I thank God I have had such a blessed life. I thank him for allowing me to live in a family that has folks who love God above all things. My mind tells me that today she is walking those streets of gold with my Mom and Dad, Uncle Wallace and Aunt Hilda, Uncles A J and Ottis with Aunt Wessie, Mammaw Maudie…..and the list goes on and on. Now I’m excited about going home but most of all to finally be able to touch the one who made all this possible. This isn’t goodbye but take care and we’ll see you in a little while.xoxoxo
