Florence Ross' Obituary
Former Memphis resident Florence Ross, 90, died December 8, 2013, at the Waverly Health Care Center in Waverly, TN. Florence was born October 14, 1923 in Byhalia, Mississippi to Frank Ned Shoffner & Callie Carrington Shoffner. She married Ruben Edward Ross August 15, 1941. She was a mother, a homemaker, and a retired employee of Sears, Roebuck & Co. She was a long term and faithful member of St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church in Memphis. She is survived by her three sons: John Edward of Gulfport, MS; Donald Phillip (Brenda) of Waverly; and Robert Ned (Marcy) of Memphis; three grandsons: Tim (Megan) Ross of Clarksville, TN.; Adam (Jenny) Ross of Waverly; & Matthew Ross of Memphis; two great grandsons: Aidan & Rylan Ross of Clarksville; & several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ed, three bothers: Frank, Jack, and Charles Shoffner; and one sister: Margaret Williams.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, (901)767-8930, “Behind the Stone Wall”.
