Aunt Florence, I remember your warm smile and twinkling blue eyes. I always felt a warm presence when you were in the room. I always understood that you know and love Jesus. You were fun – you organized the Easter egg hunts at mammaw’s in Byhalia when we were little! Your boys should know that you were so proud of them. You truly impacted my life. I know you are in your heavenly home now. You are my daddy’s (Charles) baby sister. All five of you are now together with their mother in heaven. I look forward to seeing you again. Mom, I remember the times we would go up the the Smokey Mountains, Lake Junaluska, Maggie Valley and up the Blue Ridge parkway and many other trips around the country. One of the things that Florence and I had in common was our love of sweets…especially chocolates. When I took her shopping she would fill her basket with all kinds of candies and snack cakes. Then she would hide her “stash” in her room, eating it between meals. Her favorites were truffles and the orange circus peanuts. Even these past few months when her appetite dwindled and she could no longer eat solid food, the one thing the nurses could always get her to eat was ice cream. I can picture her and Ed sharing a bowl of ice cream together in heaven. Enjoy, Mamaw!

Mammaw, you helped to shape me into the man I am today. You made my worries disappear when I walked in a room and saw you smile so big. I’ll never forget the many amazing vacations that we went on together. I can still see you now standing on the front porch of your house waving as we left and you wouldn’t stop until you couldn’t see us anymore.
