EUGENIA HILL SMITH, age 107, of Germantown, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013, at Germantown Plantation Retirement Home. She was the widow of Clarence Alfred Smith, and was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth Hill Hackler and E Read Obituary
My Mom (Shirley Weston) considered it a privilege to call Ms. Eugenia her friend while they were co-residents at Germantown Plantation. I am grateful for the opportunity I had to meet her and worship with her at the chapel there, as well as sing “Happy Birthday” to her as we worshipped together at Germantown Baptist Church. Aunt Genie was my great aunt, and I am proud to share her name. I spent a good bit of time with her growing up and I treasure that time. I’ll miss you.
Our Great Aunt Genie was a great lady. I was fortunate enough to get to spend time with her when I was a teenager. She invited me to stay with her for a week and she was gracious enough to take me all around. We spent many happy hours together visiting and pouring over the family history. She was such a sweetheart. She will be missed. Love you Aunt Genie!
