I was just getting to know Gene at work- We just recently had such a nice conversation over lunch. He was so supportive and kind spirited, one of my favorite co-workers. He is missed already. I am so glad I had the opportunity to get to know such a kind soul. With deepest sympathy to those he left behind, My heart goes out to his family and friends, Jennifer Layne

GENE how I miss you is unbelievable I was just telling our mighty coworkers how we need to get together and do another karaoke night and I was told you was in the hospital and that very night we viewed most pics that we had of you and shared all the stories we shared with you I can honestly say you are one person that was loved by all without a lie may GOD ENJOY u with him because you are truly unique which I loved…miss u lots!!!
Gene, I am headed to bed now. I hope that sleep will come easier tonight than it did last night. My head is confused. My spirit is wounded. My heart is broken. You have left us too soon . . . You left us behind. Thank you for taking care of me as an older brother. Thank you for being the caregiver to the family. I have to say that your mother, Sister, your brother, brother-in-law, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends and I are lost without you. I would give anything to hear you, just one more time, annoy me with your constant singing at the dinner table! I am not sure just how our family is going to move forward without you. I warn you now, I will be talking a lot with you in my heart in the future. I hope you will hear me. With tears rolling down my face, I say goodnight. Rest peacefully, now, brother. You touched so many lives with your time on earth. I miss you. I love you. I will always cherish the memories of you as my brother. Love, Anthony
I was so sad to see that Gene has passed away. He was the very favorite nurse of my best friend Lynette Tabor when she was going to West Clinic many years ago. We both just loved him. The first thing she would want to know was “is Gene here today?”. He was always so caring, kind, and patient. I’m sure he is thought about with gratefulness by many.

Gene was not only a co-worker but also my friend. He was the LIFE of our karaoke gatherings. He would sing us through our shifts. He could sing all music genre. From gospel, R&B, country to rock. The song he sang depended on how the shift was going. My heart aches, but I can’t help but smile & laugh at the Good, bad and FUN times we shared. The world has truly loss a GREAT SOUL & OUR FATHER has GAINED a PRECIOUS SON into ETERNAL LIFE!!!
Always how I will remember him!!! Singing a song, making everyone smile.
