Elizabeth Young Russell's Obituary
Betty Young Russell, 87, passed away November 26th, 2025, surrounded by her family at her Germantown home.
Betty held master’s degrees in music, teaching, and counseling and spent the first part of her career enriching the lives of middle and high school students. She was a choir director at Germantown United Methodist Church for several years and ultimately retired from Perkins Restaurant Corporate Headquarters after a quarter century as an executive assistant.
Betty was an avid gardener, music lover, collector, and traveler, but she was most defined by her strong sense of community and the lifelong friends she cherished.

Her second husband, John M. Russell

Sister: Jamie Liebenrood
Sons: Richard Young Jr. and Rodney Young
Stepdaughter: Jennifer Bradley, Denver, Colorado
Stepson: John Russell Jr., Memphis
Ten Grandchildren and one great-grandchild
