Dudley Turner Strawn Jr.'s Obituary
Dudley Turner Strawn, Jr., passed away on February 14, 2026, at his home in Olive Branch, Mississippi. He was born on January 25, 1954, in Memphis, Tennessee, to parents Dudley Turner Strawn and Minnie Elizabeth "Betty" Brandon Strawn.
He was a devoted family man who was so proud of his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is survived by sons, Dudley Turner Strawn, III (Amy), and John DeWayne Strawn (Amanda), and by daughter Katrina Yvonne Strawn Moore (Will).
He leaves behind his wife, Cheryl George Strawn, and her son, Jamison Wilde (Cynthia), and his two German Shepherd Dogs, Roxie and Nikki.
Dudley was the caring brother of Alison Elizabeth Strawn Franklin, and Kevin McDonald Strawn (Susan). He also leaves behind his stepmother, Kay Dixon Strawn.
He was a wonderful, loving grandfather to his seven grandchildren, Kaitlin Moore, William Moore, Carter Strawn, Kennedy Strawn, Turner Strawn, John Russell Strawn, and James Brady Strawn.
He was also "Uncle Dudley" to his sweet nieces Lee Sellers (Eddie), Victoria Harvill (Brandon), and Sarah-Katherine Totty (Ben), and their children.
Dudley attended Westwood Elementary School until 1964. He then attended St. Paul Catholic School and Bishop Byrne High School where he excelled in academics and athletics. He graduated BBHS in 1972. From grade school through high school, Dudley made many life-long friends, and he always made a point of keeping in touch. He then attended Memphis State University, Herff College of Engineering, graduating with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
During Dudley's accomplished career, he travelled extensively, managing large construction projects for hotels, casinos, and hospitals. His most recent work, prior to retirement in 2022, was for SIOTS, overseeing numerous federal contract projects from Alaska to Washington, DC.
Dudley was a fun-loving and generous person who never met a stranger, and was always quick to lend a hand. He will be missed by his family and friends whose lives he enhanced just by being himself and loving them.
The family will receive friends and family at Memorial Park Funeral Home Friday, February 20, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The service celebrating his life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2026 also at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
