I first met Dudley in 2010 and had the privilege of working with him until his passing. Our two companies partnered to build a team of organizations that specialized in outfitting government facilities. Over the years, we established regional and branch offices, managed office relocations, and at times decommissioned federal facilities. Dudley led our team in creating exceptional interior workplace environments for the Federal Government.
His dedication to his clients was unmatched. Dudley’s approach to business was straightforward: put the customer first, provide exceptional service, honor your commitments, exceed expectations, and deliver quality work at a fair price. He lived by those principles every day.
Our work took us across the country, including Alabama, Alaska, California, Chicago, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Minnesota, New York, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Washington, DC, and beyond. Through the projects we completed and the miles we traveled together, Dudley became not just a business partner but a close friend. His steady leadership, sharp wit, and the unforgettable stories he shared made him truly one of a kind. Over time, many of his clients and subcontractors also became his friends.
Between projects, we stayed in touch. We talked about life, our families, our hobbies, and his beloved dogs, Roxie and Nikki. We reminisced about old times, shared in the loss of friends and loved ones, and compared notes on the aches and pains that come with getting older. Each conversation always started with Dudley asking how my wife was doing as she goes through her treatments for cancer.
Dudley holds a special place in my heart and will be deeply missed.
