Deborah and I were good friends since our days at Northside High School. She stressed individualism, refused to follow the crowd, and lived life on her own terms. Through ups and downs, she still persevered. She fought the good fight and depended solely on the Lord to help her navigate the rough terrains in life. She gave it her best. She knew that her salvation didn't depend on the world's views or perspective of her humanity, or lack thereof, but her relationship with God. One thing that stood out just as much was her relationship with her son, B.J. (Brian Armour Jr.), whom she raised to adulthood and taught him the ways of Christ -- even after the doctors had given up on B.J. at birth when he was afflicted with serious life-threatening maladies. So Deborah asked me to serve as B.J.'s god-father when he was quite young, and I welcomed the opportunity. He defied the odds and grew up to become an intelligent young man with a sense of humor. Thanks, Deborah, for the memories. Rest well, my friend.
