Mary,I am so sorry to learn of David’s losing battle with cancer – I had no idea he had been ill. I had the pleasure of getting to know David through my work with the Independent Petroleum Assn. of America. Although it has been years since I had seen him, he attended several of our investor meetings in NY, FL, London and San Francisco over the years. From what I know, David was genuinely a nice guy. While attending our meetings, he always made time to spend with the IPAA staff and his love of music was obvious and infectious. I told him how much my husband also liked music and recall him bringing me and my IPAA colleagues CDs of his favorite current artists.Years ago, David introduced me to what quickly became one of my favorite songs – Home by Michael Buble’. We were in London at our meeting and he was talking about how much he had to travel with his job and how he just missed being home. At the time, I had young children back home and was missing them terribly. Your husband insisted that I listen to Home and I recall how much it moved me. To this day, when I hear it, the song takes me back to a moment in time.He will be truly missed by all of us at IPAA who had the pleasure of getting to know him.
