I knew Layne from the first grade at Holy Rosary school. We went through all eight grades there and four more at Catholic High. In the almost 70 years I knew him he was always one of the nicest guys ever. When my daughter and her husband became involved in car clubs he took them under his wing. My family will miss him and hope there are fast cars in heaven.
