Constance Venetia Milligan's Obituary
Constance Venetia Cook Milligan passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016. She was born January 31, 1931. Connie was adopted when she was a few weeks old by Myrtle Estelle and John Joseph Cook, Sr. of Memphis. Connie was a career civil service employee who retired in 1989 as an administrative assistant from CNTECHTRA Naval NAS at Millington, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John J. Cook Jr., and her beloved husband, Forrest Lee Milligan. Her beloved dog, Dixie Lee, died one week before Connie. Connie always considered the Cooks her “Momma and Daddy” and was raised by them with unconditional love. She is survived by her only beloved niece, Karen K. Baker, and dear friends, Patty Gant, Joseph Graham and Marty Staten. Connie had no children. She is also survived by her wonderful “Bunco Girls” who got together as often as possible. Connie loved Confederate Civil War History, Medieval History, films, oriental art, jewelry and crossword puzzles. She was gracious, kind and loving and was generous to animal welfare groups, veterans and anyone in need. Connie was Intelligent and articulate with a wonderful sense of humor. She is loved and greatly missed. Her memorial service was held at the Rivercrest Baptist Church in Bartlett. Any remembrance offerings can be donated to any no-kill animal shelter.Services have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis TN 38119.
