Clarence Malone "Tubby" Haines' Obituary
Clarence Malone “Tubby” Haines, Jr., 93 of Memphis, went home to be with the Lord on April, 19, 2017. Tubby graduated from Southside High School in 1941 and attended Mississippi State College. He was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran, serving with the 542nd Parachute Infantry Battalion and Headquarters Company, Airborne Center Training Detachment, Camp McKall, North Carolina. He was employed with Otis Elevator Company for over 40 years. He was a retired Gold Card Honorary Member, International Union of Elevator Construction, Local 30. Tubby was a former member of McLemore Avenue Presbyterian Church, Covenant Presbyterian Church and Faith Presbyterian Church; he was a currant member of Woodland Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Hilda Weigandt Haines; daughter Elizabeth Ann Haines and parents, Clarence M. Haines, Sr and Anne Lee Smith Haines. Tubby is survived by his sons, Bruce Malone Haines (wife, Sylvia), Andrew Glen Haines (wife, Denise) and Jeffrey Carl Haines (wife, Kary); two grandchildren; six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home, the family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:30 pm. Burial with military honors will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery“Celebrating Life….Behind the Stone Wall.”
