Clara Mae Francis' Obituary
Clara Mae Morgan Francis, 95, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 22, 2021. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband C.C. Francis, Jr.; her parents Lois Lindsey Morgan and Thomas Grady Morgan; and her sisters Dorothy Morgan Gunter, Virginia Morgan Ditto, and Peggy Morgan McDonald. She is survived by a host of nieces and nephews, great- and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, many friends, and children she kept in her heart.
She retired from the U.S. Forestry Service in 1982 after 27 years of dedicated service and moved to Memphis to care for her mother until her death in 1996. Her caring ways continued as a true friend and neighbor to her fellow residents at Kirby Pines Retirement Community for more than 20 years. Her indefatigable spirit was an inspiration to all.
The service will be at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Sunday, February 28 at 1pm. Visitation will be one hour before the service with burial following the service in Memorial Park Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis TN 38119.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Potter Children’s Home, Paragould Children’s Home or In Search of the Lord’s Way ministry.
