Charles E. Hart's Obituary
Charles E. Hart Jr., 99, went to be with the Lord on April 17, 2013 at his home, surrounded by family. He was born December 29, 1913 in Memphis, TN. His parents were Charles E. and Birdie Ecker Hart. He married Mary Louise Blackburn in 1938, after meeting at St Luke’s United Methodist Church, where they were lifetime members. He was a WW II veteran in the 63rd Army Combat Engineers Headquarters. He worked with Balton & Sons Sign Co. helping build the first Holiday Inn sign. He is survived by his son, Bill Hart and wife Nancy, two grandchildren, Joy Madison (Jobe) and Michael Hart (Miriam), six great-grandchildren, two nephews LaRue Hart and Rex King. Visitation will be Friday, April 19, 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 2:30 p.m., Saturday, April 20, 2013 also at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Luke’s United Methodist Church or Methodist Hospice.Location: Oaklawn Arrow Color: Red
