I grew up with Charles and also knew his mother Mamie quite well. What a wonderful, humorous, loyal, and devoted man he always was! Many wonderful memories, especially at Jackson High School!

This is the way I remember Charlie when we were kids.
Charlie and I along with Walt Mullins were in the Jackson High Band and all played the trumpet. I then saw Charlie at UTM where he was taking neat classes in welding and machining while I was taking Quantativr Analysis and Physical Chemistry. I was jealous. I am sorry that we did not converse more after the reunions, but I have fond memories of Charlie!
Charlie was a great friend during our college days. He was always a class act and I know he will be missed. My prayers are with the family and may God be near to you.Melvin Taylor

He’ll always be Little Charlie to me. When we were both very young, I always looked forward to his visits on Holidays. He had an infectious optimism, a very vivid imagination, and a wonderful sense of humor. We had many adventures together, and though we weren’t always little angels, we didn’t get into too much mischief. We hung out together in college and became really good friends, not just cousins. These last few years were tough on Charlie, but he never lost his wonderful spirit and sense of humor. I will miss him greatly, but heaven has gained a great guy.
