When I was just a little over 11 years old my mother surprised our family with the news that at 41 years of age she was expecting a new baby. It was a particularly big surprise because my mom had had a sterilization 6 years before after the birth of my youngest brother. After I got used to the idea of a new baby, I prayed that my mother would bring home not just a baby but a sister. When that baby came I was just sure I would have another brother and my childhood prayer would be denied. On the day of her birth Carole became a gift- a beautiful little miracle especially to me from God Himself- the answer to my child hood prayer. I have loved her every day of her life and it is certain that I will continue to love her every day for the rest of mine...and beyond. She was always special to me and I am both proud and grateful to say she is my sister. I know that somewhere in the future I w ill see her again, and I look forward to that day with anticipation my dearest sister.
