Carole Rodgers Hanna, 75, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2024. Born on October 1, 1949, to James Glenn Rodgers and Birdie Imogene “Jean” Rodgers, Carole was a lifelong Memphian. She graduated from Whit Read Obituary
Carol Hannah: a name and person who will be long remembered by so many for all the reasons and more that have been expressed. Each of us has felt that special connection Carol would would bless us with. No doubt we would experience a welcoming from her with each meeting. I know she made me feel as if I was the only other person anywhere near and gave her full attention to me at that time. Her warmth and enveloping personality will certainly be missed.
As a Postal Inspector domiciled in Atlanta, I often worked in Memphis and dealt with Carole. She was a friend to all that came in contact with her. She'll be missed by all that knew her.
Many young inspectors of my era were appointed to the Memphis Division and Carole took us all under her wing, and taught us the ins and outs of the job. She was a wonderful compassionate person who cared about each of us and the entire Inspection Service family. She knew everyone and checked in often. I will miss her immensely, may she now rest in eternal paradise!

I remember making friends with Carole shortly after we moved to Memphis in June of 1960. We had sleepovers and our parents signed us up for swimming lessons that summer at Gaisman Pool. Thankful for those memories and the assurance that she is truly healed.

There is only one word that truly fits Carole: Special. She was everything special rolled into one. Kind. Thoughtful. Encouraging. Engaging. I could go on and on.
