Carol Sloyan Amato's Obituary
Carol Sloyan Amato, 90, made her journey to the Lord on December 24, 2024, her favorite holiday. Carol was born on February 10, 1934, in Memphis, TN to James and Edwina Sloyan. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1952 where she developed lifelong friendships. Carol married Frank Amato in 1954 and worked for the Federal Reserve Bank and then Proctor and Gamble where she retired after 19 years of service. Carol loved to dance, anything Elvis, hummingbirds, Tiger basketball and the Grizzlies. She loved to cook, especially her famous family spaghetti.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother James Sloyan. She leaves her son, Eddie Amato, daughters, Kathy (John) Bischoff and Annette (Stoughton) Outlan, her brother Martin Sloyan, and her wonderful grandchildren, Nathan Outlan, Lila Outlan, and Joseph Bischoff, who all called her “Noni”. She also leaves nieces, nephews, and cousins. Carol was deeply devoted to her family as they were to her. While Carol will be greatly missed, her family takes solace in knowing she will be watching from above.
The visitation will be held Monday, December 30, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until the service time at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis TN 38119. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her honor may be made to the Madonna Learning Center, 7007 Poplar Ave., Germantown TN 38138.
