Carl Price's Obituary
Carl Price, 71, resident of Bartlett, TN, and husband of Kathy, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Dec. 30, 2023.
He was born on June 13, 1952, in Stroudsburg, PA, the son of Lyman and Frances Price.
He passed away peacefully at home after a long illness of pancreatic cancer. Carl attended Bartlett High School, Memphis State (now University of Memphis) where he graduated with a master’s degree in education. He went on to teach math for 38 years, retiring in 2015 from Bartlett High School, his alma mater. He also taught at Oak and Dogwood Elementary. Throughout his career as an educator, he touched the lives of many students, many of whom still keep in contact today.
He loved camping and backpacking with his family and traveling to National Parks. He also loved gardening, making sure there were crops of garlic to last the whole year. He was an avid Cardinals and Memphis Tigers fan. He was a member of Bartlett United Methodist Church and was active in the Fellowship Sunday School class. He spent time daily in God’s Word and had an unwavering faith in God’s sovereignty.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kathy; daughter, Lauren (Adam) Harrington; son, Michael (Caroline) Price; brother, John (Judy) Price; grandchildren, Kinsley, Jude, Gloria, and Paxton; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Grace Methodist Church of Lexington, TN (42 Plantation Drive, Lexington, TN 38351) or Bartlett United Methodist Church (5676 Stage Rd., Bartlett, TN 38134).
