Carl T. Crain's Obituary
Carl Crain, age 98, returned peacefully to his heavenly home on March 21, 2024. He was born on a houseboat on the Ouachita county river in Arkansas. He is survived by the love of his life of 77 years, Helen Crain; children Bud Crain, Peggy Crain- Bolding and Cara Crain; grandchildren John (Hope) Crain and Ivy (Roger) Peppers, two great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by grandson Kendall Bolding, son in law Danny Bolding and daughter in law Vicki Crain.
Carl spent over 5 decades building homes and Churches the Memphis/Mid-South area, doing business as, Carl Crain Construction Company Inc. His Motto was “Live happier in a home built by Carl Crain and make these 5 Crain’s happy.
However, his greatest passion was to spread love and faith with a sense of humor through his Southern Gospel music. His musical group was named “The Almost Famous Crains.” Carl spent countless nights and weekends performing/entertaining for church groups and the lifelong friends he made along the way. If you asked “Almost” he would tell you he’s a legend, even if it was in his own mind.
You would know “Almost” by his flashy suits and matching shoes and flair, such as the pinned banners inside his jacket. When he opened his lapel, you would see “Applause or Thanks”. He would always tell you it was important to look your best so you can be ready to meet Jesus.
The “Almost Famous" Carl Crain, may have left this world but his spirit lingers amongst us; anyone that crossed paths with him, knew that he embodied compassion in ever sense possible.
He left behind a legacy of love, faith, joy with unforgettable memories. If you were lucky enough to have met him, you would know he was someone you would never forget!
