Brenda Kaye Jarrell's Obituary
Brenda Kaye (Scarlett) Jarrell, after only 68 years in her earthly flesh, went home to our Lord and Savior on Monday September 26, 2016 surrounded by her family at her side. Brenda was born June 23, 1948 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to parents William Harold and Mary Idell (Murdock) Scarlett, both of which preceded her in death, and to which a lifelong love of the Razorbacks (GO HOGS!) began. She married Leslie Jarrell May 1, 1974, and spent most of her professional life as a corporate accountant, but ventured west to Fayetteville, AR as often as the weekends would allow and usually with her loving husband by her side. Her passions included family, gardening, reading, mentoring, and of course, her Hogs. And although the family, along with many friends and loved ones, has lost a wonderful human being, the heavens have gained the most beautiful angel. Brenda is survived by her loving husband Leslie L. Jarrell; four daughters, Leslie Gwyn (Jim) Locket, Ashley (Rob) Barker, Rachael (Vince) Martin, and Lauren (Bill) Denney; three sisters, Sarah Stratton, Evelyn Scarlett, and Charlotte Cantrell; six beloved grandchildren and six greatly cherished great-grandchildren.Visitation will be held at 1:30 P.M. at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, with a memorial service at 2:30 P.M. and a graveside service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you, if so desired, donate to the razorback memory bench that will be placed underneath the pen oak at graveside. To do so, please make checks payable to: Leslie Jerrell and mail donations to: Memorial Park Cemetery, Attn: Terry Richards/Jerrell Bench, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119.
