I remember one night at the Peabody Hotel when Warren sat down at the piano and began to play. It wasn’t long until there was a mob of people watching and listening in total silence and when he stood up there was a thunder of applause and so many people wanting to just touch him if they could. We had to sneak out to get away. Warren touched a lot of people in his short life, including myself. Probably the best musician I have ever heard. If it had strings or keys he could play it. He also had a good family. A great mom, dad, brother and his beautiful children. I had just mentioned Warren last week when I told a mutual friend about the time we spent the night in Nags Head, NC on one of our journeys. I wish I had called him. Godspeed, old friend. I never missed you until you were gone…
