I met Bill a little bit over two months ago at the Community Garden Plots. I had been trying to get a plot with the Community Gardens and decided the fastest way would be to go in person and talk to someone.
That day I walked up to his truck and saw a man taking a nap. My instinct was to let him sleep so I sat down on a bench and waited. Enjoying the weather on a Saturday morning. 40 minutes later he woke up and I approached him. To my surprise, he was ready to set me up with a plot that day. I told him a plot number and within a day or two I got a confirmation email.
I wanted to make this man proud of what I (a novice gardener) would do with the plot I was given. I want to keep working hard to make something it to honor Bill. He will certainly be in my thoughts every time I go to the Shelby Farm Community Garden Plots.
