We are saddened to learn of the loss of my first cousin Billy Cresswell today when the Christmas card we sent him was returned marked no forwarding address. We really wish that someone had let us know of his death. He had called us earlier in the summer saying he would be by to visit as he usually did prior to his meetings for the Credit Union Board. I really enjoyed talking with Billy and will miss him and his twinkling eyes and laugh. It is my sincere hope that my cousins will contact myself and my mom and continue to keep in contact with us. When I worked at Kimberly Clark Credit Union starting in 1982, I remember him as a very nice man. And he taught me something by his actions. He loved credit unions and what they stood for. He showed me that credit unions help people and I did not just have a job but I had a mission. I still believe that today in my current credit union job. He had a big impact on many people as a board member and a person that believed in his convictions. I will forever be indebted to him for that. He will be GREATLY missed.

It is rare that one person makes such an impact on so many lives, I grew up at the Creswell home as a friend of Allen’s. Billy always was watching Discover, History, or something like that while laying on the couch. He would always engage and chat with me. Here is where the story gets interesting. My wife, Kelly, and I had just found out that we had a baby on the way at that time I was working at the Casino’s and needed to dramatically change my life. Allen mentioned that Billy was on the Board of Directors at Kimberly Clark Credit Union and they needed help with their computer systems. Billy got me an interview with Sarah Broxterman and Joel Forbess and that was the moment that changed my life. Not only did I start working at Kimberly Clark Credit Union as an IT guy it introduced me to the Credit Union Industry. Here I am almost 20 years later running a fast growing company that employs 10 full time careers all focused on the Credit Union Industry! Just imagine that one connection that Billy made is now going to feed a entire new generation of opportunities for many more people. Thank you Billy I am glad you where a part of my life

Billy, I will miss you so much! I could order your meals for you when we went to a restaurant after our board meetings. I know you always wanted extra thousand island dressing and something sugar free for dessert. We had a good time wherever we were. I thank you for your leadership and service to the credit union and for being my friend. RIP.
