Betty Larson's Obituary
Betty Larson, 86, of Germantown, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Gary, Indiana to the late Cecil and Vivian Coonrod (Brown), Betty attended Indiana University and worked as a legal secretary, married the late Donald Larson and raised her family as a homemaker in Gary. In 1972 her family moved to Germantown where she fell in love with the people and places of her new home. She worked as Administrative Secretary for the City of Germantown for nearly 30 years, retiring in 2006, and was an active member of Germantown United Methodist Church for over 40 years. She will always be remembered for her smile, sunny outlook and the obvious joy with which she embraced each and every day.She is survived by three children and their spouses, Sheryl Gilmore (Joe) of Germantown, Suzanne Taylor (Joe) of Scottsdale, AZ, and David Larson (Sue) of Cumberland, RI; seven grandchildren Joe Gilmore Jr., Brittney Fenderson, Kelsey Zaharko, Kasey and Daniel Taylor and Amelia and Brigitta Larson; and four great grandchildren Coy, Seph, LinleyGrace and Wynn.Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM – noon on Friday, February 19 at Germantown United Methodist Church followed by the funeral service at noon in the Sanctuary. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery on Poplar Avenue.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Germantown United Methodist Church designated for general local missions.
