I was blessed to meet Bert over 15 years ago at Bellevue. He and another dear Friend Don Cooper were joking and talking. He could always think quick when it came to a great joke or encouraging word. Bert always had a gracious and pleasant demeanor. I was blessed to be able to rekindle the great memories when I was blessed to come to The Campus Church. I am thankful for the blessing of knowing and having my life influenced by Bert- a great and faithful person and servant of the Lord. May God bring comfort and strength to his Family and may The Holy Spirit guide the pathway ahead as we adjust to Bert’s new address until we are together again. Pastor Bobby Rushing

Our first date was a double date with Bert and Bobbie 49.5 years ago. They weren’t married then. Bert was a groomsman at our wedding. Bert and Bobbie married six weeks after we did. We have loved them for over half a century and have cherished their friendship. God blessed us to have so much history with Bert and Bobbie. We will miss Bert but rejoice knowing he is with our dear Lord and Savior in heaven. Our prayers are with Bobbie and the family. With heartfelt sympathy, David and Jackie Godsey
