Benjamin Franklin Dunford, Jr., 68, of Germantown, TN, passed away on December 4, 2014. He was the owner of Ben Dunford Electric Company, Inc. He was born in Princeton, WV, on February 10, 1946. Mr. Dunford is survived by his wife, Janice Cross Dunford of 23 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Douglas C. Williams, Sr. and survived by his mother, Mrs. Dorothy Dunford Williams, a brother, Douglas C. Williams, Jr., and his wife Dr. Janis Williams, three sisters, Peggy Mitchell of Churchill, TN, Sharon Williams of Princeton, WV, and Rena Hall and her husband Rick of Princeton WV, 16 nieces and nephews, and 11 great nieces and nephews.Mr. Dunford was President and owner of Ben Dunford Electric Company, Member of: International Association of Electrical Inspectors, Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC), Board of Directors of the Mid-South IEC, Memphis and Shelby County Electrical Board, President of the Memphis and Shelby County Masters Association, National Fire Protection Association, on the Board of IEC Apprenticeship and Training Committee, Alternate to the code making panel 1 of the NFPA, a Master Electrician certified in many cities and states, Certified C.E.U. Instructor for the state of Arkansas.Mr. Dunford was a Marine Corp Veteran, having served two tours in the Vietnam War. He was Worshipful Master of Frayser Lodge No. 746, a member of Millington Lodge 671 and Unity Lodge No. 95. Mr. Dunford was also a member of Park Ave. York Rite Bodies, Memphis Scottish Rite, and Al Chymia Shrine Temple.The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Sunday, December 7, at Memorial Park Funeral Home with a Masonic Memorial service to begin at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, December 8, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at West TN Veteran’s Cemetery.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Al Chymia Shriners Hospital for Children, 5770 Shelby Oaks Dr. Memphis TN 38134.
