B.A. "Buddy" Shindler's Obituary
B.A. (Buddy) Shindler, 84, of Germantown, TN, passed away on November 4, 2020. A Marine Corps veteran, Buddy is survived by his wife of 51 years, Susan Embury Shindler, and daughter, Tiffany Shindler Friend, of Germantown, TN. He cherished his role as a grandfather to his four grandchildren, William B., Dylan C., Elizabeth D., and Garrison E. Friend.
Buddy was preceded in death by his son, R. Craig Shindler. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Alice Shindler, and his three siblings, Norman Shindler, Melvin Shindler, and Mildred Shindler Kaplan.
As a lifelong Memphian, Buddy graduated from East High School.
After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, which gave him a lifetime full of fond memories.
Buddy started his business career at Cook Cotton Company. From there, he moved into investment banking, at the National Bank of Commerce and the former Union Planters National Bank. Buddy ended his long career at Vining Sparks Investment Group.
For many years, Buddy enjoyed playing tennis at the Racquet Club of Memphis. As a seasoned ticket holder, he also enjoyed supporting the Memphis State Tigers.
The visitation will be held Monday, November 9, from 4:00 until 6:00, in the Riverside Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN, 38119. At a later time, a private family interment will be held at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
