Audrey Thompson's Obituary
Audrey Stultz Thompson died in Chapel Hill, NC, Sept. 11, 2014, following a long battle against Alzheimer’s. She was originally from Winchester, Virginia, and lived in Memphis from 1971 until 2002, before moving to North Carolina. She was predeceased by her husband, John Russell Thompson, in 1998. Mr. Thompson was a Professor in the Business School at the University of Memphis. While living in Memphis, she was a member of Balmoral Presbyterian Church. She was a devoted caregiver for her husband, who had an extended illness of MS. Her family cherishes memories of her spontaneous personality that always found joy in family and friends. Ms. Thompson is survived by two sons and their wives, Steve and Cindy Thompson of Chapel Hill, NC, and Scott and Vicki Thompson of Nashville. In addition, she has 6 grandchildren and 3 great- grand-children. She is also survived by sisters Philomena Weatherby, and Jeanette Leatherwood, and a brother Roland Stultz. A service for Mrs. Thompson will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 17 at Memorial Park Mausoleum Rotunda.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, (901)767-8930, “Behind the Stone Wall”.
