Anthony Dillon Burnette's Obituary
Dillon Burnette left this earthly home on June 4th, 2025 to sing with the angels. His passing was completely unexpected and resulted from a cardiac issue.
Dillon was born February 15, 1990, to Tony and Cindy Burnette and lived his full, though too short life in Memphis, TN - spending the last 15 years in the Cooper/Young area.
Dillon was preceded in death by doting grandparents Judy and James Gray, Floyd and Jeanie Hayes, Josephine Botto, and his brother Joey Burnette. He leaves his Uncle Scott Hayes (Kelly) and his dear cousins, Kasey Hunter and Samantha Hayes, with whom he grew up. Dillon was also blessed with a wonderful, extended family - loving aunts, uncles, and cousins (too many to name) who cherished him deeply. He was a devoted “cat dad” and will be missed by Mori and Shyla.
Dillon had a heart for the elderly and loved working as a senior caregiver and hospice aide. He was also a chorister in the St. John’s Episcopal Choir and had just returned from a magnificent choir trip to sing at the cathedral in Liverpool, UK. He felt blessed to have the opportunity to teach music to the children there at St John’s as well. Dillon grew up in, and was a member of Scenic Hills United Methodist Church, where he shared his musical gifts in the choir for most of his life and was surrounded by a loving, supportive church family.
The family invites friends to gather for visitation on Wednesday June 11, 2025 at 11:00am to be followed by services at 12:00pm at Scenic Hills Methodist Church at 2847 Pembroke RD Memphis, TN 38128.
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. John’s Episcopal Church 3245 Central Ave (Choir Fund) or to Scenic Hills UMC, 2847 Pembroke Rd, Memphis, TN 38128.
