Dillon was one of the kindest people I ever knew. We were friends at a very lonely time in my life. Yet, he made me feel as if I was rich in friendships.
His home was a place of comfort. Every Sunday, my friends and I would gather at Dillon's warm and inviting home to play board games - the kinds of roleplaying games that took 6-8 hours. So we would all be there for quite a while. We cracked jokes, shared home cooked food, maybe used silly voices for the characters we were playing - and Dillon was such an integral part of that joy. Dillon did the best voices, understood the complex rules the best, and was the best game master for these experiences.
I cannot overstate how much fun these times were. We played these games for a couple of years together, and for one of my birthdays, he and his closest friend Ally created custom characters for me using photoshop. It was one of the most thoughtful gifts I have ever received, and I will always cherish them.
Dillon was an incredibly kind person. He opened his home to immigrants, to families, to those who needed him. He opened his heart to all of those he cared for in his professional position. He was always doing things for other people. He was a pillar of the music scene in Memphis, and loved by everyone who knew him. I miss him so much.
I love you Dillon. I wish we could have had more time together.
