Brewer, Anna's Obituary
Anna Brewer was born on October 28, 1929, in Mayfield, Kentucky. She was the widow of Robert L. Brewer, Jr. They were married for 64 years before his death in 2012. Survivors include two loving daughters, Teresa Scott (Butch) and Robin Adams (Mike). Surviving also are wonderful grandchildren Wes Scott (Elizabeth), Whitney Smith (Jared), Jon David Adams (Allison), Meredith Pettigrew (Ryan), and Spencer Adams (Stephanie), as well as 10 great-grandchildren.
Anna was a graduate of Mayfield High School, Austin Peay State University, and the University of Memphis.
She taught English at Broward Junior College in Davie, Florida, State Technical Institute, Memphis City Schools, Harding Academy of Memphis, and the University of Memphis. After her retirement, she also taught and served as a substitute teacher at Presbyterian Day School.
Anna enjoyed immensely her roles as a wife, mother, grandparent, great-grandparent, and teacher. Anna and her husband led several tours to Europe, one to the Holy Land, and several mission trips to Ukraine.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Ukrainian Mission Fund, Germantown church of Christ, 8723 Poplar Pike, Germantown, Tennessee 38138; Autism Breakthrough of Knoxville, 1700 Liberty St, Knoxville, Tennessee 37921; or a charity of one’s choice.
There will be a private memorial service at a later date.
