Anita Joy Rieben's Obituary
Anita Joy Rieben, 72, passed away February 17, 2016. She was born December 24, 1943 in Memphis, TN. She worked as a substitute teacher with the Tipton County Schools and as an administrative clerk at the Millington Naval Base. She enjoyed singing Karaoke and playing golf and pool. She loved animals. She is survived by her children, Gerald “Buddy” Rhodes (Debbie), Bambi Rhodes Spears, James Hans Rieben (Susan), and Karen Kopchick (Jim); grandchildren, Michael Patterson, Jennifer Rhodes, Jessica Calebro, Charles Rhodes, Callie Rieben, Sam Rieben, Dalton Farrar, Hanna Kopchick, and Randy Spears; as well as 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jerry Rhodes and James G. Rieben; children, James Allen Rhodes and Brenda Womack; parents, Velma Newton and Allen Ray Stark; and sister, Shirley Hopper. Graveside services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, May 7 at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the American Cancer Society and the Humane Society.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119. “Celebrating Life… Behind the Stone Wall”
