Michael, I don’t do fb, but please contact me via email at [email protected]. I need to know if a Go Fund Me account is legit that has been set up. I know Mia had her and JG’s plot and stone. I’ve seen it when visiting Beau’s site. I have a few people who have contacted me regarding this, so I told them I would ask you if it was. Also, maybe you could contact the person who set it up and suggest that they put a link to donate directly to the funeral home if it is legit. Some people are funny that way, and may feel more comfortable doing that. I pray that justice is swift! This truely breaks my heart.

My name is Dena Pannell. I dated Anita’s son Beau. We called her Mia pronounced MEE-AH, as that was Beau’s pet name for his Mom. To the family, I’m so sorry for your loss. I will never forget the night that I met Mia, JG, and Beau. I went out with some friends to see a local band. It was crowded and my friends and I couldn’t set together and this sweet couple offered for me to sit with them at their table. We all had drinks and this lady was rocking out as much as I was. I told her “Wow, that guy playing guitar is soooo talented and he’s hot!” She laughed, and kept dancing with me. Later that night when said “hot guitar player” was finished with his set, imagine my surprise when he came to my table to see if his “parents” enjoyed the show!!!! She introduced us! Mia loved her salty dogs back then and I too remember how good her spaghetti was! I wasn’t around when all the grandchildren came, but I do remember Michael. She and Beau both loved and doted on him. I can only imagine that she was in hog heaven with having all the grandchildren I read about here! May God bless you all during your time of need.Dena Pannell Drummonds, TN

I remember her mother Velma was stricken with senile dementia and she moved her into the house across the street. She took such good loving care of her and would’ve made an excellent nurse. She was in fact @ one point studying to become a nurse but being a wife/mother/caregiver made her make the sacrifice of giving up on that dream. Her mother would come to eat dinner and Anita had to stop serving English peas because Velma would always start a food fight with us kids by putting a pea on a spoon and flicking it @ us. She finally had to put her into a nursing home but we visited frequently. Dad would dress up as Santa and Beau would be Santa’s elf. The people loved it. It was strange driving up there with Santa @ the helm drinking a drink with a cigar hanging out of his mouth but we were going to go to the nursing home and sing Christmas carols and entertain the older folks. It brought such joy to their faces.

I also goofed on her Dad’s name…It is in fact Allen R not Vernon J. So sorry for my goofs ! I can just see her riding her pony through Elmwood though as a little girl. She was the one who told me that if you have menstrual cramps to eat chocolate and it works. I’m over that though by a couple of year now LOL ! She always use to keep daschound dogs and they were so well fed that I thought it was a pig and kept calling it a pig. Her homemade Hershey’s cocoa cake was the bomb ! I would ask her for it every time I would come over as a little girl.
